Walks and Fetch

We want our dog guests to be safe, comfortable and happy while getting their needed exercise. They will have a wonderful time at a green grass park! We will try to accommodate the wishes that you may have for your dog’s Park Outing.

GRASS PARK SCHEDULE

DESTINATION: (we choose from 3 beautiful grass parks)

Chumash Park, Agoura Hills (9 miles away, our primary park)
Forest Cove Park, Agoura Hills (8 miles away)
Russell Park, Westlake Village (6 miles away)
(Distances are from the Sherwood Neighborhood)

DAYS OUR PARK OUTING OFFERED:  Monday through Saturday 
Pick-Up Window at the Sherwood Neighborhood:  10:45 - 11:15
Length of Time spent at Park from Arrival to Departure:  1 Hour 

American Kennel Club (AKC)“Regular moderate exercise is linked directly to increased longevity by preventing obesity, and keeping joints healthy. Consistent activity strengthens the cardiovascular system and helps manage weight. This can add up to two years to a dogs life”.

When leaving the van, your dog will ALWAYS be connected to a leash! 

1. When we arrive at our park, we unload our guests with each one connected to a leash.
2. We then have a 30 minute walk on the nice park grass. Our dogs love exploring the sights, sounds, nice park smells and atmosphere of the park.
3. We have a stroller cart with us for the walk. If your dog gets tired, or you only want him / her to walk 10 minutes, we will place your dog in the stroller cart and will be pushed alongside the walking dogs. We keep a very close eye on our dogs.
4. After our 30 minute walk, we have 15 minutes of individual fetching with a special bungee-fetch-leash that is connected to your dog’s harness.
5. Little dogs can fetch 20 feet while big, athletic dogs may fetch 200 feet. We will follow your instructions.
6. Each dog has its own personal fetch-ball, personal fetch-frisbee-ring, personal fetch-badminton-birdie. Our little dogs love the badminton birdie fetching.
7.  Each dog is given two consecutive fetches, and then must eagerly wait until it is his / her turn again.
8. Watching the fetching is very entertaining for the dogs.
9. After the fetching, each dog is given cool, fresh water in a personal disposable water dish.
10. If your dog is not interested in fetching, we will play chase with him / her on a 20 foot section of the park grass. We want every dog to have fun!
11.  Each dog is then safely secured and tethered on their personal van seat which is covered with their personal towel.
12. We drive back from the park and return our 4-legged friends to their homes.
13. Your dog will be in our care for approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.
14. Our park outing is so beneficial for your dog —- Healthy exercise / Great park atmosphere / Nice soft, groomed grass / Socializing with dog pals / Having a real fun time / Stress relief / Your dog will return so relaxed.

On hot days, we drive 15 miles to Pitts Ranch Park, Camarillo (14° cooler)

FEE: $45 (Chumash Park, Forest Cove Park, Russell Park) , additional dogs from your home $35
FEE: $60  Pitts Ranch Park, Camarillo. 15 miles away & 14° cooler when it is too hot in Camarillo, we go to Oxnard State Beach Parks    

We have 3 beautiful, groomed, grass park destinations:

• Chumash Park, Agoura Hills 9 miles away (our primary destination)
• Forest Cove Park, Agoura Hills 8 miles away
• Russell Park, Westlake Village. 6 miles away

On hot days, we relocate our noon time outing to these lovely parks:

• Pitts Ranch Park, Camarillo. 15 miles away, 14° cooler
• Oxnard State Beach Park 29 miles away, 21° cooler

• Your precious dog will be picked up in the morning and driven to beautiful Chumash Park, Agoura Hills. Dogs will have a safe and fun van ride together. Each dog will be positioned on their own seat, covered with a clean towel and attached with a tethered harness.  
• While in our care, your dog will always be on a leashed harness. Safety First!
• This one hour Park Outing starts with a 30 minute walk on large, groomed grass. Then, we have individual fetching. Dogs can Walk/ Run / Play / Fetch / Relax/ Socialize.  While fetching, your dog will always be connected to a bungee-fetch-leash. Our outings are always on soft grass which is better for your dog’s joints.
• We are here to give your dog the exercise he / she needs.  Making the exercise a game is so much more fun.
• Our dog guests just love being at the park together, not alone. Being together and bonding at the park will add excitement for your dog. Dogs love being part of the dog-pack-at-the-park. To them, it is like being on a sports team.
• We will follow your directions for the amount of desired exercise.
• Fresh Air, Great Smells, Good Exercise, Playing at a Park, Stress Relief. So much fun! Dogs love the excitement of our park outings!
• A stroller cart is pushed alongside the walking dogs and is used for the elderly, little, tired, and disabled dogs. They want to join the outing too!
• TIME: Approximately 2 hours from home pick-up until home return. This includes pick-ups, the drive to the park, one hour at the park, return drive and drop offs. We never rush our drive.
• The safety and good care of your dog is most important to us!
• Only friendly dogs are allowed on our walks.
• Everything is sanitized.
• Our van has 2 air conditioners to keep our dogs comfortable.
• Each week you will receive a photo of your dog at the Park.
• We have an insurance policy with no incidents.
• The Park Rangers encourage us to come.
• We have a 4-passenger electric GEM golf cart for large, handicapped dogs.
• You may call or text at any time, but we cannot respond while driving.
• Nice References from: Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Thousand Oaks, and Malibu 

SERVICING THE SHERWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD 6 DAYS A WEEK, MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

               HOME PICK-UP WINDOW -- 10:45 - 11:15

American Kennel Club (AKC) recommends, “30 minutes of walking 5 times per week for healthy adult dogs. Senior dogs should maintain 15 minute sessions twice daily to manage joint health. Choose softer surfaces like grass when possible.”

WHEN THE TEMPERATURE AT NOON IS HOT WE RELOCATE TO:

$60 Pitts Ranch Park, Camarillo. (18 miles away & 14° cooler)
$70 Oxnard State Beach Park (34 miles away & 21° cooler)

• Distances are from the Sherwood  Neighborhood
• Camarillo & Oxnard are used when there are heat waves.

Camarillo is our first choice. If the forecast expects hot
weather in Camarillo, then we go to cool Oxnard
State Beach Park.

FEE: $60 -  Heat Escape Treat  during Heat Waves  to Pitts Ranch Park, Camarillo. This outing is for 75 minutes which is 15 minutes longer. If the temperature is too hot in Camarillo, then we go to cool Oxnard State Beach Park.  

FEE: $70 -   HEAT ESCAPE TREAT FOR JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER AND DURING HEAT WAVES
(Higher fee is only for Oxnard State Beach Park, Summer Outings)

• At the amazing, 20° cooler, Oxnard State Beach Park (Summer afternoon highs are generally from 66° to 72°), 60 acres of groomed, green grass, 400 palm trees and a 2 minute stroll to a beautiful, sandy ocean beach for a dog walk (permitted here in Ventura County). 
• Time at the park: 90 minutes (30 minutes longer), includes a 15 minute leashed dog stroll on the beach. This is in Ventura County where dogs are allowed on the beach.
• We have a special beach stroller cart with balloon tires to navigate through the soft sand. This cart is for dogs that are tired or handicapped.
